Key Projects (Maximum 440 Words)

(£3M) Hawley Woods School - Refurbishment of a Victorian school building, along with several standalone ‘Portacabin’-style structures, to create a school for students with SEMH needs and autism. Being part of such a meaningful project was incredibly important to us as a company — one that gives so much back to the community. (500K) The White Hart - Development of a Grade II listed building with 21 rooms into a new Heartwood Inns site. This was their first operation with rooms and as such is a key development. The site was owned by an owner operator for many years and while it is an amazing site it was in poor condition and needed a total strip out and redevelopment. (£5M)The Pier House - A full refurbishment and restoration of this Grade II listed property for St Austell Brewery, following its forced closure due to fire damage. The renovation was carried out with care and sensitivity, incorporating nautical elements to reflect its coastal setting. One of the main challenges was working within the constraints of a listed building and its historic layout — reconfiguring the space to meet modern operational needs. Weather also posed a significant challenge. With a large section of the roof needing to be rebuilt due to fire damage, this critical phase had to take place during winter, requiring our teams to battle the elements to stay on programme (£450K)The Tap House Manchester - A full refit of a brand-new shell unit to create an innovative self-serve concept. We installed beer and wine dispense walls, display storage cages, a disabled toilet, and a glass wash area on the ground floor. One of the key challenges was completing a Building Safety Regulator application — the first of its kind in Manchester. Balancing the operational needs of the client with the landlord’s requirements was complex, but we successfully developed a layout that satisfied both parties and allowed the concept to operate safely and efficiently. (£150K) Prosolve: Development of and new Boardroom and Showroom at the clients existing site on the first floor. The works remodelled the first floor, moved the marketing team to the current board room and opened up a visual link to the Warehouse for visiting clients. The main challenge was creating a space that uniquely displays consumables in a way that suited the client’s needs and worked within the space we had. We also wanted it to feel exciting — less like a storeroom, more like a showcase for the products.

Challenges (Maximum 220 Words)

Challenge: Recruitment As the business continues to grow, we’ve had to recruit across all departments, including the design team. To support this, we've improved our onboarding process, developed a recruitment brochure, and appointed an in-house recruitment coordinator. As well as continuing to succession plan from within — many of our design team began with Concorde in junior roles and have been gradually promoted. Challenge: Innovation Innovation is a core company value. We actively encourage our teams to attend industry events, discover new suppliers, and explore emerging technologies to keep us at the forefront of design and delivery. Challenge: Continued Growth We’re in a pivotal phase — transitioning from a small to a larger business. To support sustainable growth, we’re implementing new systems and software that will evolve with us. Current priorities include digitising our health and safety systems and introducing a new CAFM platform. Challenge: Diversification Diversifying our client base is key to stability. Hospitality work can be seasonal, impacting turnover. Expanding into new sectors helps smooth out these fluctuations and supports long-term resilience.

Highlights & Achievements (Maximum 220 Words)

Industry Awards and Shortlists Over the years, we’ve had great success with industry awards and shortlists. Last year was no different — our MD, Richard Wilson, was awarded Fit Out Leader of the Year, and one of our major projects, Gozney HQ, won Fit Out Project of the Year in the Small Office category. In fact, we appeared in award shortlists 18 times throughout 2024! Survey Equipment We have in-house equipment to facilitate 3d surveys. These give a great starting point to any project and help share very thorough design information with the rest of the project team. We have just purchased a new 3D camera to supplement our existing which will give us a higher level of accuracy. Location We operate both nationally and internationally, with completed projects in locations such as Guernsey, Jersey, the Falkland Islands, and Brunei. We also have a strong, ongoing relationship with NAAFI, which has supported our work overseas. Repeat Business We have built strong relationships with many clients, leading to 15+ clients who are regular repeat customers. Recognition We are proud to have been recognised on some very exciting lists such as the JP Morgan Top 200 Female-Powered Businesses.

I have taken responsibility for many capital projects, this one ranks as the least stressful and most rewarding. I have never received so many words of appreciation from neighbours and residents for the way your team conducted themselves on site. Hannah Stroud (Kedleston Group) I couldn’t be happier with the school site — it’s beautiful. A pleasure once again working with the team at Concorde.
